Some exciting improvements are planned at the library this fall! For several months, the Board of Trustees has been working with engineers from Scheeser, Buckley & Mayfield and WSA Studio architects to select new carpeting, paint, lighting, shelving and heating/air conditioning equipment. That process is almost finished. Final plans and bidding should be finished in the next two months. If those stages go smoothly, work is scheduled to begin in October.
The appearance of the library will be vastly improved. No more duct tape on the carpet! The lighting and HVAC systems will also be extremely energy-efficient which is not only environmentally sound but will dramatically reduce utility costs. New shelving will provide room for an 8-10% growth in our collections.
Check our website for more information as the project progresses. Feel free to contact the Library Director, Matt Nojonen, if you have any questions. |
